I have one of my OE's thinking about being broody. She growls at me and tries to take the egg back but she will leave the nest later in the day.

Your more than welcome. I REALLY wasn't expecting anything accept maybe some chicks or eggs, then my broody decided not to be broody anymore the day before I came down there. I got to thinking, I'm working next sat. I could cut the melamine pieces at work if you can come get em. Out of all the eggs one was bad. Thanks again.

I found 5 speckled Sussex chickens for sale on cl and was wondering if 100 was a good deal for 5 grown hens and a roo and 11 chicks

I only know of the Ellington Agricultural Center in Nashville. It is free. You would take I-24 in to Harding Place...it's probably about 15 minute drive once off the interstate. You can maybe find a vet nearby, but they would probably charge a fee ??? I don't know...
Sorry about your hen. It's so frustrating to know something is wrong, but you can't seem to make it right.

Sounds like a good deal to me. Make sure you quarantine them all for 30 days.
