Ok fair enough, BUT I have 2 yes TWO nesting pair of hawks on my property. So far I have had no problems from these hawks going into year 6 but I also don't keep white chickens, well ok I have 1 hatchery Del "Ruby" and somehow she is still with us going into I think year 3 now. But a _flock_ of white chickens, no I just shouldn't tempt fate or hungry hawk parents that much.

So, a good white egg layer that is not a white feathered chicken, that is now the quest...ideas anyone??

Hum, interesting. I have heard the white Bresse are rather mean, just a rumor no personal experience here. So do you have Black Bresse? If so how are they temperament wise?

I'm only looking for a white egg layer to round out my eating egg colors really so I wasn't thinking more than a couple or three pullets, I'm full up on breeder breeds atm. But Black Bresse might be interesting as a breed to keep, they are dual purpose too, right? ...off to read up on these...

I don't have any if these. I have 2 three week old white bresse in the brooder and in reading more about them I read something about the black bresse and their white eggs.

White Faced Spanish, Minorca, Ancona, Andalusian, Campine are all white eggs or pretty close.

Hi from West Tenn I'm new to the site and just hatched my first chicks Monday

So we had a broody silkie when we left for spring break and she was attacking the house sitter when she collected the eggs. We figured we would stick some eggs under her and see what happens. We brought her some souvenirs back from Williamsburg VA- six Dominique eggs. She hopped right on them and hasn't moved since, happy as a clam. We'll see how that works out in three weeks or so. Hopefully it won't be six roos.

Alo of mimixed chicks im sure I have about 50+ chickens RIRs, SLW, BR, Buffs Dominique America and more. I hatched 22 eggs from them.

I'm assuming T-town is Tullahoma?? We just moves to this area recently. And I was just getting used to mboro when we moved.
