She is an Easter Egger not a pure Ameraucana. You don't get Pure Ameraucanas from hatcheries.
I am thinking hen. And it is now possible to get a real one from My Pet Chicken but you pay about $15 to $25 (depending on the rarity of the breed) a chick for show quality birds. They are listed separately from the rest of the chickens as Show Birds.
I don't know what The Poultry House raises myself but this is what nashvillechick said about them in January 14:
I'm about to begin raising another flock of hens and have searched high and low for someone who can vent sex chicks right after hatching. The Poultry House is the best that I can find in the Nashville area---actually the ONLY ones who sex them with good accuracy. A boy may slip through on occasion, but not too often. I also just emailed a poultry scientist at MTSU and he said that the best hatchery he could recommend in the area is Poultry House. Guess they'll have all the business they need with Davidson County's new backyard hen law.
CESOrtega supplied this:Not sure if you still need the contact number but here it is for future reference: 615-574-1250 or email at [email protected] I just got this info from a flier at Bonnie's.
