this is what my little girl looks like. She is still alive and kicking. She can not stand so we have been feeding her sugar water. I'm not sure how she is still alive. We found 2 of them like this the day after they arrived from the hatchery. Theother one died yesterday. It is like they have a broken neck of sorts. Thoughts on what out could be? They were in a pen with Turkeys that are abit bigger, but not huge. I was thinking if it was an accident then there shouldn't have been 2 identical cases.

So I guess the photo from my phone isn't happening. It is like when a goose turns her head to put it under her wing. It is twisted and upside down.

I also have an idea and I want to run it past anyone with more knowledge than me which is everyone here I'm sure. I am thinking of an ready watering system. What about a large pvc pipe that is in the shape of an L. We can fill it from the top and it would have nipples out the bottom. Does this sound like something that will work? I am thinking of a similar system with a Y at the bottom and elbows for feeders. Do you think that 1 feeder will be enough for a dozen birds or so? They don't eat much food, just mostly grass.

Sounds like wry neck. It is a vitamin deficiency if it is. Check this site for some info:http://www.fresh-eggs-daily.com/2014/04/preventing-and-treating-wry-neck-in.html

Help? Poultry and water fowl laws and ordinances in Brentwood/Nashville? We have one duck we live right near Cool Springs in Brentwood on a little more than an acre, all the neighbors love our duck but just making sure!
Are you in Brentwood city limits…..if you are actually in Williamson county the laws are different. We have a Franklin address and all that implies but the house is actually in Williamson county and I can have as many chickens as I want ….I don't do roosters because I want to be respectful of our neighbors (we are in a subdivision)….don't have water fowl so I can't help there.

Any guesses as to what these are? Both came out of the bantam bin and are almost 5 weeks old.

That's what I was guessing. "She" is tiny, compared to the other one.

The pale yellow one....I don't have a clue about. It's about the same size as the BLRW chicks of about the same age.

I had a second yellow one, but a snake got it and two other chicks this morning. We just moved and our new house has a large coop built in to the back of a shed on the side of a really big RV garage. We brought our old, smaller coop with us, but haven't been using it. We haven't refortified the new coop and I think the snake crawled in under a back door. Looks like the chicks are going into the old coop--we built it ourselves and made sure it was really secure. A "lesson" learned the hard way. :(

I'm in Williamson county. Well I think I don't know why I would go to Ravenwood if I wasn't. I'm about half a mile from a Willismson County school, I'm a few miles off of Moore's Lane. What are the poultry laws for Williamson County?
