I free range my roosters that i know I am not going to need....there are people that take them in to do the same....

Jenski...so far LOL...I am directly inbetween Manchester and Tullahoma....so I just run to Tullahoma when Bonnaroo is in town...hey they started coming in on Monday last week and camping out at the Walmart

I worked the very first one....so after that I completely deter from the area

wow this heat has been intense thus far UGH....I feel bad for the chickies I don't wanna be out in it either!!

Oh yeah City Girl I hatched out an all Lav looking one out of my barn yard mix....so maybe the lil chick will be the same

we will see....

raven1 did you get those eggs in the bator?....just wondering....I got some more Lav Am coming from Blehm's line....this addiction never ends ....I can't help it I love all the lil chickies

Yes maam I did and they are due on Friday! Keep your fingers crossed for a good hatch so I can get you and Holly all you want. I will let you know when they start popping so we can get together.

I'm located on the far west side of middle TN but will be driving through lebanon going to carthage area and Smith countie area on Sunday morning around 10 - 11 am. and could pick up then. Brown Chicka- I have two females and two males available. There is a third female, but she went broody and i couldn't break her so she is currently being a velociraptor protecting her two babies.

All are buff silkies. I need to either clean out my PM box or figure out how to renew my GFM before I can PM you. My box is full.

Just to warn you- this line is CRAZY broody!!! I have four broody at the moment and another couple that are thinking about it.

Minuteman- I am having trouble right now with freshly hatched and pipped chicks. They just aren't making it. All I can figure is that it is the heat. I have had three die either in the shell pipped or just out of the shell this week. The only one that has made it out had some help from me. The poor thing was shrinkwrapped. My guess would be that yours are having trouble handling the heat. Hopefully as things cool off a little this week your chicks will do better.

Matlock- so how many babies did you end up with? Whoohoo on the bator working!!!

Econman- shouldn't you have babies coming out soon?

Raven..no worries if you get a less than great hatch I don't need 10 chicks so make sure 1newegg gets what she wants first.
Just finished a perfect hatch...all 2 chicks hatched

now I have to decide if I want to risk sticking them with the Mille Cochin Mommas and see if they notice a few extras or a brooder for 2 tiny's
Broody disease is at an all time high here. 2 more today so now I have 7 with eggs or chicks.Of coarse no darn silkies will go broody

I'm going to run out of hatching eggs soon...all of the breeds I want to hatch are the broody ladies so I'm not getting eggs from those pens either.

CityGirl they are broodys...lol....I mean beautys....just what I'm looking for...I actually want at least one of them to go broody

...not having any luck hatching my own eggs with an incubator...if you still have your lil blue girl I may still be interested in her too....you'll definately have to send me pricing info so I can see exactly what I can get away with...lol...

I am thinking of taking the kiddos to the Chattanooga Zoo they have a dinosaur thing going on this month....anyone ever been there? Thinking about going wednesday...we have been to the Nashville one many times...figured I would check out the dinosaur stuff

Citygirl that pic is too cute!!.....wish mine were old enough to go broody I think that would be much easier

If your still looking for some I am not sure how far she is from you, but ROBIN usually has some nice ones her website is www.silkiesofsummertown.com she may have some for sale. Also, their is a show every October in cookville and Jack Fergusion(SP) is almost always their selling some. He has great birds. I hope that helps.
