...lol...I know that's bad....CityGirl has exactly what I'm looking for at the moment but I did look at the website and bookmark it for possible future needs...Thanks for all the info as it is greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks for all that asked... I wound up with four of my five test eggs hatched. We had to take the fourth out. It was just in a position where it couldn't zip. It's head was all the way turned around. It was terrible getting it out. My wife actually did most of that because I wouldn't make a decision on it. We had it bleeding and everything. At one point it looked like it was dying, but right now, it's outside having fun with the other 3 and you couldn't even tell any of that even happened. While we had the incubator opened up I did a float test on the last egg and it sank, so something went wrong with it, but I didn't open it to see what happened. I guess I don't care what happened and I don't understand why people want to break open nasty ol' incubated eggs and try to see what happened. If it ain't gonna work it ain't gonna work.
I've already ordered a dozen cochin banty eggs to set hopefully Saturday evening. I bought them from a BYC'er named luckypickens who lives in AR. And from what I saw, people were getting pretty good hatch rates from her eggs, one even had 12/12.
Here is a couple pics of the four I got outside in their brooder. I feel silly running that light all day, but they stay under it at night. I got 'em right outside the window my recliner is by so I can just lift the curtain and see them at night.

Hey all! Back from working Bonnaroo and have chick pics...wife sent me pic updates and I made it home Sunday morning for a little bit before going back to finish out the weekend. Out of 10 or 11 eggs, not sure how many I had in the final days I now have 6 chicks. 2 pipped but were shrink wrapped. I'm guessing the same as CityGirl and the heat was too much. They started to hatch Friday afternoon and all were out that were making it by Saturday afternoon. I'm not sure which of the breeds made it as Cornelia won't allow me to get very close. Had to use gloves and a small rake to clean out the dead chicks from the nest. Today she cleaned out the rest of the egg shells. The first thing my son wanted to show/tell me about when I came home Sunday morning was his new chicks. Very cool. All the chicks are very active and ready to move to their grow out pen.

Feel free to weigh in on breeds/sex. I had EE, BBS Maran and BBS Americauna eggs.

CityGirl- Thought I sent you a pic message of the chicks. Couldn't get to a computer and I was so excited to share the news with everyone on here.

Love the pic Econman...
This has been the most fun. I'm gonna set again Saturday, and I think some others from this thread are planning to as well, so keep checkin back with us. I'd like to see some older pics of your chicks.
Congrats on the hatch, and I hope you made some good money on bonaroo.

Matlock and econman- So very cute!!! Congrats!!

I am so ready for my little flock to grow up and move outside. They are only 2 1/2 weeks, so we have a bit to go. I was hoping that they wouldn't be so messy as there are only four of them, but the room they are in is covered in dust. Wish it was at least cool enough to move them to the garage.

Where are you all brooding? Surely not everyone keeps them in the house like I am?

I put mine right outside soon as I took 'em out of the incubator. They seem fine. They only get under the light at night. I have some 1/4" hardware cloth over the top of them. They are fine. I have them on my covered front porch.
