The Middle Tennessee Thread

Hi...I'm a newbie on this site. I'm still trying to figure out how it all works, so pardon me if I accidentally start invading your thread. I was told to join the TN thread when I sent my first email, I think! LOL All I know is that I'm having a blast with my feathered babies, and being a city girl from Nashville, I knew nothing. But I'm learning.

Last year's Easter Bunny brought us 2 white Sillkie Bantams (thought I got all girls, but these two ended up being boys), 2 silver duckwings, 2 white and black Seabrights, 1 black Americauna, and 1 white duck. This year's bunny brought 22 more chickies and 2 brown ducks.

I ordered a bunch from MyPetChicken.com, and somehow I ordered a bunch of roosters of the new ones. Not sure what I'm gonna do when their little hormones start raging....

Here's the babies I got from city girl in the country and my little polish rooster out of quarantine and hanging with the big boys. They're enjoying the fresh air and hopefully they get some sunshine this afternoon.

Welcome to the thread!

There are lots of people on here who have many different kinds of chickens. I would suggest you lurk around a bit and look at pictures to decide what you like and fits your situation.

As for your roosters, that is hard. There are some local FB sale pages as well as Craigslist where some people put their roosters. All that testosterone can be a problem when it gets going.

I should have a hatch end of the week and then an empty incubator. Anyone around Nashville area or Dickson have show quality sillies and willing to sell some hatching eggs? I'm open to most colors but looking for very good quality. Super fluffy, correct feet and combs, etc.
Please PM me if you are going to have any eggs in the next few weeks. Pictures of parents are appreciated.
