White Bluff is in Dickson county, just west of Nashville. I'm in the Charlotte, Ashland City, Dickson, Pegram, Kingston springs, Fairview kind of area. where is the auction you talk about? I really don't have money for anything right now, but it's getting approval from the first lady as an investment!

Still wanting a cochin bantam? Ill have a hatch on the 21st.

Poultryhollow.org exit 253 off i40 has different types of turkeys not to bad on prices and they said they hatch all their birds year round. I bought 16 chicks from them and they are all still alive and doing well.

We got some great news last night which is also bad news for my chickens

Megan is going to be advancing to the gymnastics team within a year instead of the 2 years everyone had predicted

but it means living at the gym since I live so far from it for hours at a time several days a week and traveling all over from IL to FL

The reality is SuperWoman had her limitations and I'm not her

I'm going to be cutting my flocks way back starting now and over the next few months.

My kids or my husband neither will fess up left a bucket of bantam cochin eggs in the coop by accident..so in about 15 more days we should have more black mottled cochin chicks available. They need to learn you can't show a cochin hen an egg. These should all be breeder quality or better chicks..a few could look like that cutie Anne hatched but I don't ever see the Silkies lay an egg.

Anne-that beautiful blue EE pullet has started laying...beautiful tan eggs
he.gif
SO if anyone wants a beautiful blue and I mean she is beautiful and she's BIG she's now on the available list..eggism I like to call it

I have an egg gremlin here somewhere..I can't find enough eggs for breakfast..with this "cold" spell they should be cranking them out.
If you wait and get chicks then you know you won't get any Silkie crosses or just in case the buff has laid an egg or two..her chicks are obvious they all have her lousy toe feathering and shape
This week is crazy with the fair in town..brings in lots of chicken buyers that wouldn't normally travel this way and we have a GS camp thing.

"known" as bad or eveyone just knows about it? I find alot of people who don't know about poultry hollow at all. Sorry if I gave a detail that was already known, just trying to help out and feel like a part of the forum.

I think what Holly meant was some people have had very bad experiance with them. I like you have done business with them and had no complaints at all, nice folks.

No trouble with them at all, like I said I bought 16 and I still have all 16. No health issues, the place is run down and I wouldn't keep my babies in wire cages like that. But to each their own. I like how they have alot to choose from. When I get ready to buy my next chicks in spring I probably won't go through them but rather buy directly from other byc people. I have a list and the members on this thread have what I want and it will be a great chance to meet other people who love their chickens. There seems to be alot of people where I work that have chickens but they don't feel the same way we do about them here.
