I enjoyed looking at your blog, Austin. That's the reason I got chickens - to become more self-sufficient. I've got several books on homesteading. Don't know how far I'll go with it - but I started with chickens and a garden. :)

To those that have asked about me:

Been out of commission due to ER visit- flu, pneumonia and suspected meningitis. Thank the Lord that last one was ruled out finally. Finally getting out of the hospital was nice but the lumbar puncture didn't go well and I spent 5 days laying flat on my back without a phone (left charger at work) and no computer.

Anne- can't do more birds. My health has really deteriorated and I agreed to get rid of most of my birds. If you want the Welsummer trio let me know. Emma is willing to let them go. I am only keeping my silkies and Sebastopols. The geese don't require much work. The silkies have always been my first love and they have been some of the best stress relievers I could have asked for.

Becky- We do still want the male peafowl. The two that hatched ended up being hens....I expected to be both boys....what are the odds?? Jose just can't let them go and agreed to take care of them including building a long run/aviary.

Tisha- If you want to come by and get the babies we can do that or if I go to Clanton...I can bring them with me. Clanton is still up in the air though.

To everyone else, I enjoyed reading all I have missed and congrats to all those with their new fuzzies.

I will be needing new homes for the AMs. If anyone is interested in the AMs let me know and I think Jose is thinking of Camp Kenmore for the others.
