Just real quick... Since I started setting the live/kill traps I have caught 2 possums, 2 cats, and a few mice. I set several different traps every single night in different spots. Still trying to catch the stinking rat or rats. This is the worst it has ever been here, it just seems like predators are coming out of the wood work. I hope you get whatever got your hen but by all means don't stop setting traps once you catch the first one. I promise there are more out there.

Sorry I have been MIA guys things went bad with the house and I have been crazy literally! I will catch up on this thread soon.

Going to Clanton this weekend!

Congratulations, Countrypunk! You had great success with 20 chicks! Don't close up shop too quickly. I was going to clean out the incubator last week and saw what looked like a possible pip on one egg that hadn't hatched - even though all the others had hatched a couple days earlier. I decided to wait one more day - and ended up with one more chick!

I can just sit and watch all the new chicks. They're so cute and active and curious.

Please, I have a Rooster in dire need of a home. I got two roosters that where raised together that are older from a home. One had been attacked by a coon and then had it's tail feathers ripped out. The two have been doing fine, until today. I came home to find the one with a cut on his head and small cuts on his comb. And the feathers ripped out of his neck and his tail. I am working on cleaning his wounds. Hes super sweet, and gentle on the girls. Would love to keep him because he is sweet. But now with the main rooster trying to kill him I cannot keep him. I let them free range when I am home but cannot let them out while I am at work due to neighborhood dogs. I do not want to send him to freezer camp b/c of his sweet nature. He is going to have to spend all day and night outside the coop. If anyone can save his life, I would greatly appreciate it. I ask nothing for him just for him to get a home. Thanks

he hasn't crowed once in the entire week I have had him.
