I'm missing Marans eggs, too. However, I have already arranged to get those in the spring. Since I hatched out 5 Welsummers, I'm hoping to get some pretty dark and/or spotted eggs by springtime - if all the chicks aren't roos. I keep looking at all these chicks trying to see signs of roo of hen. But I have no idea right now.
My egg carton is complete!
I found a nest box full of eggs and found another new blue egg layer and I looked one more time before I left and thought "I should look in the MARANS too" WHAT A SHOCK!
They are only 20-22 weeks old! I didn't expect eggs for another month! Now I think I only have one hold out on the 8 MONTH OLD PULLETS!
I hope that was not too much build up!
Mine are 2 1/2 and 9 mths. The 2 year old is easy.... Lets go to bed is all it takes. The 9 mth old has his own schedule... need to fix that fast!
BTW that was today's haul of eggs! 10 today and yesterday I FOUND 13, what am I going to do with all these eggs! Good problem huh? Hubby says he is eating the Marans egg in the morning.... I feel another fight coming on
