May take you up on that! Let me get my pens done and everybody moved and I will get back with you. I have some pullets not much older than that. Right now I am just over run with roos! I have one pen full of roos in cages cuz they fight. All I have to do is make one call and they could all be gone, but my Marans are changing and I am not sure who to get rid of now....

I'm missing Marans eggs, too. However, I have already arranged to get those in the spring. Since I hatched out 5 Welsummers, I'm hoping to get some pretty dark and/or spotted eggs by springtime - if all the chicks aren't roos. I keep looking at all these chicks trying to see signs of roo of hen. But I have no idea right now.

Carol Welsummers sex at hatch so you can tell now..the girls have a very defined eye liner as well as the V on the head..the roos have both but are less defined..more smudged looking.

He is free. My friend raised him hoping for a hen, but was a roo. He is sweet and loves people. Come on, You know you want him.

I went out and took photos of my Welsummer chicks - or at least what I THINK are my Welsummer chicks. I swear I have a hard time telling some of them apart. I only have 5 Welsummer chicks, but I picked up 6 that all looked the same to me. So one of these is a light brown leghorn - I think it's probably #4 - but I'm terrible at seeing differences. Anyway - let me know what you think:
