Connie I just noticed that two of the chipmunk type ee i got from you are looking quite unique

they are similar, brown mostly but the tail feathers and some of the wing feathers are BLUE and they have the best muffs in the box but both have a straight comb. Very pretty birds. I saw some similarly colored on the EE thread and thought how would you get that? Now I have at least two! Can't wait to see what color egg they will really lay. I think they are both pullets. Unless they are really hiding I don't have a ton of roos in there

My straight combs in there were black and red sex links oh and the california white hens. The reds make pretty EEs I have a couple red with the blue/lav in the tail and laced some very cool!!! I have a gold/lav very pretty with a straight comb no muffs mama was a pea comb clean faced EE. I am glad you got some pretty ones

Most of the chicks have pea combs and are solid colors. I have 2 that are white (roos) and 3 that are black, Oh I can't remember now... I sure don't remember which one hatched from your eggs.....

When we move everyone I will get some pics and try to figure out the roos too.

Hey guys

its been awhile I know, I simply haven't found my way onto the internet lately. So much has been going on! We have built a bantam coop now and its almost finished....thankfully. It has 2 big nest boxes, lots of roosts a outlet to plug up heated waterers and lights

it should be complete by monday

oh and happy halloween!

What is wrong with me? I saw Swedish Flower Hens hatching eggs in an auction - and I got caught up in the excitement of bidding! I won. Then I saw a buy-it-now for chocolate orpington hatching eggs. And since I had already committed to the SFH eggs, I figured why not. I don't need any more chicks! And I sure don't need to spend any more money on them! I'm trying to figure out how I will approach informing my DH of this. LOL! My whole family already thinks I've gone overboard with the chickens. I need to figure out a way to block all chicken auctions from my computer since I obviously have no self control.

I'm home

Ok I was completely disappointed with Crossroads..disappointed my mottled Cochin roo is molting because I didn't see any other that he couldn't beat. Some real nice birds there for sure but as for the breeds we breed here there was none any really nicer than what is standing out here now...other than the Silkies there were lots much nicer than mine but mine are unique I didn't see another that looked like Reeses or Toast all the buffs there were as buff as can be...boring

We did bring home a horrible quality black Cochin from Danny in GA Ethan saw him crowded in a cage and had to have him. Now,he will be loved and that's a pretty good thing when your a Rooster so it was his lucky day..also brought home a blue pullet. He had a MFC hen that Megan would have bought but he would only sell with a rooster so she put the hen back in the cage..not going to force her into something she doesn't want

The Rabbit convention was super...but once a rabbit entered the building they can't leave until Wed so I had to leave one I would have liked to buy.

I hope you had a good time anyway! where will the next show be? I would not mind going to one down the road, just to see what it is all about.
