25 feet really isn't far enough away, that's just a short dash out in the open for predators and knee high grass can conceal a lot. Around my Guinea coop its kept mowed about 100 feet all around. This Summer my husband spotted a fox right at the edge of the unmowed grass. Next stop would have been the Guinea coop but the open area made it hesitate long enough to grab a gun.
