Jenski - Our chicken coop is in it's final stages. Right now the outside is done and just needs to be finished on the inside. He's also building a run for them. Lighting a fire under dear hubby to finish by Sunday because I'm picking up my first chickens on Monday!

Buff Orpington pullets - 4 of them. (Thank you HBuehler!!!) Then next week (march 2 or 3) my Australorp chicks should be here. (6 I think) The funny thing is this: the chickens were my idea but I only wanted MAYBE 5. I thought "why would anyone want more than that?" Hubby wanted more (10 or 12) but we compromised and ordered 6 chicks. Well then I started reading this forum..... Called hubby on Valentines day and asked if we could have more chickens!! His response "well yes, if you want them" So in end he got what he wanted but it was my idea.

Jenski- I am indeed pondering a field trip to GA. Can you get a us a party van?

By then I will be NPIP. I'm pondering taking a silkie or two to show and perhaps some of the young ones to sell. Hmmm... we shall see.

Cuty Girl, Did you know there are a few people going to the Newnan show looking for Buffs? Are you going? I'm going to be looking for Black silkies, light blue silkies and a splash rooster.

I am seriously considering it. That is the end of spring break for me, so I won't have to work. The NPIP guy is coming out at the beginning of that week, so this lot should be ready to go. I need to move the buffs that I am not keeping so I can hatch out more.

If I have enough room after I add all the cages we will put in an incubator rack. Now for adding all the cages...of coarse once these gynormous pullets get used to the idea they will be out free ranging and not in the cages so that will give me lots more cage space..ah never mind I'm hatching bators at a time...need more cages.
Jenski-I'm hatching lots of those prehistoric birds..those things lay like crazy not real big but they don't miss a day.Hatched a solid white one today-my leghorn RIR roo has no idea how it happened.
