Donna - love the photo of Santa and the babies - so sweet. It's great that Santa could stop by your house!
Yesterday we got back from having Christmas with my mother and family in Georgia. Their church has a live nativity scene each year - and Thursday night all three of my granddaughters were in it as angels. So sweet!
Then we had our kids and grandkids over to our house last night for our "Christmas". Exhausting but so much fun! Son & daughter-in-law and youngest granddaughter are now in Jackson with her family. Two oldest granddaughters will go to their dad's for a week beginning Christmas afternoon. So now it's just me and hubby relaxing with nothing we have to do (except a couple hours babysitting two oldest granddaughters this morning) for the next three days.
Before we left town on Wednesday, I filled up the feeders and waterers in the chicken house - and then we were gone for 48 hours. I also scattered plenty of scratch in their pens to keep them busy. I didn't really worry about the chickens, but I'd never left them entirely alone for two full days - with no one checking on them. All my usual chicken-sitters were also out of town. The chicken house is secure, though, and I knew they had enough food and water for two days. They did fine - and still had plenty of food and water left when we got home yesterday.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas. It'll be fun seeing what 2012 brings all us chicken folks! Looking forward to seeing chick pics from the ones who have eggs incubating.
