It is waiting for the new bator! The lady that got the others is going to stick them under her silkies.

Anne,
I have a truck if you need anything hauled.

Holly,
Cookies sound great. My schedule is the same as Anne's. I also work in Nashvegas.

Donna,
How are the AMs doing?

Kandi,
Alex went with the spangled, wheaton, and blue wheaton.

They are doing great! Both your girls are laying now. One lays a pretty blue egg and one lays a pretty green egg. If my next 3 hatches go well I will put your girls with your boy.

Emmalynn- are these the black AMs you got from me? If so, some of that line lay a great blue and some are more greenish. The genes from the Riddick line are greener. The birds confirmation is great, but the egg color is lacking. When I questioned her about it she admitted that she didn't breed for egg color. Sigh. She didn't seem overly concerned about the green tint. I kept her hens in my breeding pen because their shape was so great, but I am slowly getting the eggs back bluer. The Garner roos have helped. The best blues came from the Cree line, but that line was bad to leak gold in the blues and red in the splashes so I moved those hens to other places (mainly my EE pen).

Thanks for the truck offer. When they get some more we should run over and get a truck load. They would be GREAT small pens for us both (and you wouldn't have to wait for your honey to build you more!

When do we get pics of your boys birds? I'd love to see the spangled ones. :)

Which one is laying the blue egg and how green is the other one? I was really expecting blue from both of them.

Greener than my EE from a hatchery. I don't know which one is laying what.... sorry, but it is the new layer. The blue layer has laid more eggs and she was the first to lay. I am hatching them anyway. I will work on egg color when I have enough chicks to pick from for the Lavs. That was bad news huh? The roo might help with egg color so it might be blue-er with the next gen.

bahaha! Just watched "My Big Redneck Vacation" on CMT, and I gotta say, it was funny watching people from the Hamptons shoot a compound bow and ride 4 wheelers and stuff. The "chef " even cooked up some frog legs in his nasty old cast iron skillet! Too funny!

Day 19 is in the books and I'm hoping for some pips in the morning, but I'm not holding my breath. Both of my kids teachers are gonna let their classrooms monitor the hatch on their projectors Wednesday. I have loved having the webcam. So many people are hatching with me this time. I've even had one person in AZ send me private msgs to warn me about my temp and humidity!

Good luck!

Carol- is that the shipping crates that were listed? I was hoping to get some myself to turn into small coops. Will you please let us know what he says? Thanks!

When I emailed him, he replied that he'd gotten a lot of calls about the crates - and that they were all gone. But he also said he'd be getting more and to check back with him. I thought I could add more wood to close them up and make coops - and use the frame for small runs. I'll contact him again next week and see if he has anymore. Actually, I may go ahead and email him again and ask him to let me know when he has some more. I'll let you know what he says.
