I have been putting apple cider vinegar in their water for quite awhile.....but to take care of the algae. It works for that by the way.
 
Had something interesting happen today. I put an ad on Craigslist to give away some EE cockerels that I had. I had a bunch of responses - and I met a guy this afternoon to give them to him. A couple hours after he got the chickens, he emailed me asking. "Are these roosters?"

WHAT??? The title of the ad was "4 Easter Egger Cockerels - Free" - and I wrote in the ad that I was getting rid of them because I didn't need any more roosters. He wrote back that he just saw they were EEs - didn't realize they were roosters. I offered to take them back - don't know if he'll take me up on it or not. I had no idea that I needed to clarify that cockerels are males.

I told my husband from now on if the chickens are male, I'm going to call them ROOSTERS no matter how old they are.

It may take them longer to start laying because of the time of year. The day light is getting shorter and it may take them longer to start. I had one EE that didn't start till she was 9 months because of the time of year. In due time...... My original Marans start laying about November and hatched in mid April.

That is a good idea.... I never call them cockerels.... they will flag your ad for that too.

you shouldn't take them back..... let them get rid of them. You are NPIP and can't.
