No! We were at the Belle Meade PO. Funny, not sure they deal with many chick shipments around those parts. We live just off of West End. I have always called us the Belle Meade Hillbillies...now we really are with chickens!

Hey....and Welcome Hockey Chick! You will learn a lot from this forum....... as for the BO, I got a beautiful one from "Doug" at the Poultry House, who was recommended to me by someone on this forum because at the time no one had BO pullets for sale here. He has his NPIP certification so you can't go there for sanitary reasons but he can tell you what he has and bring them for you to see. They are a USDA licensed hatchery and guarantee their chickens. The one I got was a pullet and several months old but he might have some chicks because they say they have chicks year round. I met his wife and daughter out by Arrington Vineyards at Bonnie's Barnyard, but they are located in Franklin.Hi everyone! I am new to posting on a forum and new to chickens today, too! It is a big day for me. I just got my shipment of chicks from My Pet Chicken this morning and of all things, my son's pick of a Buff Orpington apparently hopped out of the box before they sealed it up! Would anyone know of where I could get a little BO hen this late in the year...some what close to Nashville? Thanks for any advice, he is coming home in a few hours and I am sad to break the news. He knew it would be the only fluffy yellow chick in the bunch. We got a Plymouth Barred Rock, Black Copper Maran, Easter Egger, and a Black Austrolorpe. Each of my kids picked out a different chick...it will be sad if he doesn't have his own! Our mistake for "counting our chick..." Sorry for any posting etiquette I may have messed up. Thanks!

I would definitely check on this forum for suggestions for whom to by from .......we care about our chickens and only getting quality stock and we look out for each other!!
Lori....she's doing better. Spent a good part of the day hiding in the nesting boxes or behind a board in the coop. I was worried she wasn't eating or drinking so we got her out and put her in the baby pen with food and water. She was hungry! None of my other 5 pullets have bothered her or even really noticed her, I think she was just a little homesick for her siblings. Molly is holding her in her lap on the porch right now trying to bond. Will keep you updated on her.......and thanks again!
