Sick Chick?
Hi all, I am hoping you guys can help me out. We just got our chicks Wednesday and the Black Copper Maran has been what we thought was shy the whole time. However, the rest of the chicks have grown exponentially in the last 2 days compared to her. The last 36 hours I keep finding her standing in under the light wobbling and then her head dips down. I have read my book and it sounds ilke Coccy?? I gave her gatorade starting around lunch time today. She will perk up and go crazy and eat, etc. But then hops back to the light and stands there again. They are on the medicated chick started. I did witness some of her poop and it is either white/clear or formed and tan. The other poo around the brooder seems to be firmer. This is my first batch and I really don't want this one to die on us! We already had a shipping snafoo and didn't get my sons...now I said he could have mine, and it of course is the sick one! Please pray for no more drama! What can I do for her?

I had a hard time finding meds local. What part of middle TN do you live in? I know Bonnies Barnyard has Sulmet for chickens. That is the only place I have seen that. The other stuff I had to go to 3 stores to find it. The Sulmet is stronger and a little harder on the chicks but might work better.

Thanks! I am hold with TSC on Franklin. They have 5 Corids in stock, she is just checking before I make the haul out there...we live off 440 and West End in Nashville. Of course I also have a toddler who is sick and the hubs is still on the road, so this will be a fun trip . Maybe the baby needs a little Corid to settle her tummy, too! Now that I said that, she couldn't have the same thing?? Ok, yay, they have it. Going to get it, wish me luck-

I'll get you another one. I don't think I have one to spare right now, BUT I have hatched a lot of Lavenders lately so I am sure there will be more roos in there. Get back with me around Christmas and I will know better what I have. I am going through my pens this week and if I find one I will let you know.

I will get you set back up. Good thing the roos develop faster in the breeding department.

Hello everyone how is everybody doing ? Hope all is well. I haven't been on in a while but still check in and lurk a little. I have decided to put up a fence to avoid future conflict with the neighbors dogs. I decided against a wire fence I find them very unappealing. Here are some pics of the progress thus far I do plan on running a hot wire around the bottom. I hope everyone's birds are doing well. I have two awesome blue EO's coming along and a nice black EO for some new blood. My pearl gray orp is growing quickly and I have 3 more of those coming along good too. My new golden cuckoo marans are looking good too awesome feathering on the shanks.....Chad

Looks good! I was thinking about you guys the other day, wondering if everything worked out ok.
You know the 5th Annual Hallowen Bash is coming up this Saturday night! Would love to see you all there! Be sure to come in costume or we will have to dress you up and you mig not like that too much.

Got back from Clanton show yesterday- all birds placed 1st at least once and often twice as it was a double show (it was really a triple show but we didn't go down on Friday night). Many got BV, BB, and the goose went Champion Reserve Waterfowl. Not a bad day at all.
