I was thinking you were in Franklin area. I have never clipped wings but I would not be afraid to do it. I don't think it takes much to throw off their balance to prevent flying.

When I got my run from Premier they said I'd only need to clip one feather on one side to keep them from flying......out of the 6 of them 5 got out twice today....not fun. I may call you if I can't find a vet close....thanks.I was thinking you were in Franklin area. I have never clipped wings but I would not be afraid to do it. Any amount you want is fine, but 10 is what you said. Not sure when I will be up that way, but really I can bring them up any day next week. It is just 10 mins down the road.
I used to have to clip wings on parakeets and cockatiels. You flip them over so you are holding them on their back in your hand and clip right where the second row of feathers ends at. If you look at the bottom side of one of the chickens wings you will see what I mean. The feathers grow in 3 "rows" and they are easily identifiable. You just cut the first row off. It's right in the middle of the longest feathers so no chance of blood or flight.
Easy Peasy!
