And thats also expected to have a mishap. What really excited me is 300 chicks and only 2 died a week later feom kids messing with them. I find their chicks much more vigorous. Ive ordered from meyer, mcmurray, and from tsc. Meyers chicks did the best. Oh also ordered from cackle... I have a different opinion on them.........

Heard they were great and ordered from them over the weekend for delivery in April≥....got a Columbian Wyandotte, Salmon Faverolle and Golden Lakenvelder....excited to add these to our little flock.

their columbians are better then the pic. I had three pullets and they was pretty nice for hatchery. The howks loved them too

Good to know, we really liked them....Knock on wood we don't have preditor problems....we live in a subdivision with houses all around and a fenced in yard with overgrown trees, plus I put some wire over the run to also protect them from the air.....like I said knock on wood. It's been almost a year since we got them and have not seen anything except a blue heron on our pond.

Last two nights. Coyotes. No break ins. But still. The other night one was right in front yard. Tried to get a good shot lined up but it was hard to in the dark. I missed and he took off. Next night a whole pack in the back yard. Just shot in the general directoon and they left. Then another pack in the woods went off a few seconds later. Tried using some calls, a few reacted but never showed. Trying to get a spotlight. Gotta run to wally world later and get more ammo as I only had a few rounds from barrowing my uncles.

I also foun that peeing around the perimeter of your chicken yard works really well havent had anyone killed since my hubby and son does this for me onnce or twice a month or after it rains lol i know it sounds weird but human scent is real strong in urine and preditators pick up on it and stay away.
