You still have EE and are you able to breed them? I ask because I sold ALL my EE and if I want to replace them I just wanted to make sure you still had them. I don't think I can add them back in my flocks but I like options

I got rid of all my EE and Araucana roosters. So no more EEs unless some of the EE chicks I have (5 weeks old now) end up being roos instead of pullets.

I've have 5 so-called Rhodebar eggs due to hatch in a couple days. All five seem to be growing well. They will be the last chicks from my green/olive "Rhodebar" flock since I rehomed the rooster a few weeks ago. I'm trying to decide if I'll keep the chicks or sell them. Decisions, decisions.. LOL!

I wish my wife would take some intrest in chickens. She wont even go out to collect eggs for or with me. Shes not a real animal person at all.

I'm not an animal person at all! My husband and kids are still in shock that I enjoy my chickens so much - and it's going on two years now since I got them. So it's not just a passing fancy. Maybe your wife will change your mind someday.

Swedish Flower Hens lay light brown eggs. The color is in their feathers - very varied and colorful birds. Many have crests, too. Just gorgeous! (And up until I got chickens, I would have questioned the sanity of anyone who described a chicken as "gorgeous.")

Indeed." I have a he doth protest too much" DH who keeps telling me he hates poultry.

But _he wanted to try Turkeys, & brooded them in his man-cave for several weeks playing Nordic Heavy Metal music to them --I was worried thinking he was treating them badly until he showed me the baby turkeys dancing to it, and getting really upset when he turned it off. Then he got board w/ them & they were smelling up his man-cave so they went outside to the brooder & were _my turkeys. But now the 2 pullets are grown & follow him relentlessly around the farm. Funniest thing ever.

Then he discovered the Icelandic chickens had been imported, telling me repeatedly he doesn't like poultry he sends me all sorts of info. about how great the Icelandic breed is. Soo, I got on a waiting list, not like the DH wants them or anything <wink wink>.

So I decide to hatch eggs, tell him "I'm going to build a coolerbator" next thing I know he is watching how to videos and driving to the hardware store b/c we are lacking some parts.

He says its all 'cause he loves me, which is great, but I think he is also a closet poultry enthusiast , shhhh, that's his little secret ;>

I hate not having internet on the weekend!!! Good job Donna! I want some of your CCL's Carol. The SFH I got from you are just stunning. I ended up with 3 pullets and 2 roos all but 1 is crested. Whoot!
