I was afraid I was gonna be the only local yocal to be going through those looooong last 3 days.

You will regret a short coop, run. The first time you have to CRAWL in to get, say an egg.... it will not be that bad... the next time and the next time and the next time.... it will get old. My runs are about 4 1/2 feet tall... I wish they were taller, but I didn't have a choice in that.... materials dictated the size.

It is kinda cute with the garden on top and all. you can add some cuteness to it with paint and such. ALWAYS ALWAYS make the biggest coop you can.... that you will not regret. I need more pens

AFTER I MOVE I can have MORE PENS

I agree with Donna about the height....especially in winter....had a short one at first and never will again.....also agree about going big. My original coop was supposed to hold 4-6 turned out that was only if they were sardines.....I now have 6 in one that holds 18-20 and can add a few more comfortably.

About 3 BLRW, 1 SLW, about a dozen and a half or more of Silver Pencilled Wyandotte bantams, some Lavender AMs, some SBEL from Donna, about a dozen Double Blue Laced Barnevelders, EES, Birchen and Black Copper Marans, and some Olive Eggers...

You don't have any SLW.... my hubby wrote SLRW and he meant BLRW..... sorry. I should have fixed that. I am hatching all the SLW ..... they are not fertile YET so I am just warming them for 10days and tossing them.

Donna do you do that just to check fertility? If my broodies eggs dont hatch i may have to come get some chicks from you if you have any. :-D
No, I am really trying to hatch some SLW, they roos are just not WORKING FOR THEIR FEED

SLW have some major fertility issues..... I am going to have to resort to AI to get some chicks.

Ooh silver pencilled Wyandotte bantams. If you have any extra chicks you want to sell let me know.

I set some eggs from my chickens but my roosters are young so I doubt that any are fertile. 5 polish, 11 bantam Cochins, 7 silkies, & 5 frizzle Cochin bantams.

Should be getting some in the mail to set at the end of the week or next week 12 mixed bantams, 6 olive egger bantams, 4 chocolate orphington bantams and maybe some SFH. I can't wait!
