Ooh silver pencilled Wyandotte bantams. If you have any extra chicks you want to sell let me know.

I set some eggs from my chickens but my roosters are young so I doubt that any are fertile. 5 polish, 11 bantam Cochins, 7 silkies, & 5 frizzle Cochin bantams.

Should be getting some in the mail to set at the end of the week or next week 12 mixed bantams, 6 olive egger bantams, 4 chocolate orphington bantams and maybe some SFH. I can't wait!
I think you are in for a surprise..... I find ALL eggs from my young roos are fertile.... well except for the SLW. Alex is checking the fertility on the SPW for me.... I am not ready to deal with bantam chicks right now.

Help!!! Donna if I build the case for my bator will you do the rest :D? Wires, bulbs, Thermostat, fans etc... I'm not electrically inclined. :/ I can build just about anything out of wood & I can do simple wiring , I just don't quite understand how everything has to go together.

It's pretty easy... I put the thermostat on a wire cage that goes over the light bulb and my bator ran within 2 degrees with an out of the bag unmodified hot water heater thermo.
Here is a decent picture I found for you. I had a great one on my puter that burned, but I can't find it now. I got it from this site though. Anyway, maybe this will help.

So what's everybody hatching?

Mine will hatch on NYD.... but I didn't set them for the BYC hatch-a-thon. Swedish Flower Hens, Crested Cream Legbars, Project Rocks, SLW, hum... that might be it. I took out the BR, Copper Marans and......

something else. I just didn't want to put a 3rd try in. I had over 60 eggs to set, but I am really, really TRYING to cut back on my hatching..... it is just not working

I NEED to sell some pullets..... but that means I will have to go through my pens and make some cull decisions.

I set for a NYD hatch but did not join he thread either. I have a few of each Exchequer Leghorns, Black Crested White Polish, GCM, Birchen, and one lone BCM egg. We will see who is going to hatch. I don't get my hopes up too much this time of year but it would be nice to get a few.
Donna I don't think you can slow down on your hatching you are addicted worse than me!
