We need to get together with Jen and Anne and do a sun dance.Just when it begins to dry up the rain comes again.
Glad the kids are doing well for you..they are a pretty bunch. We have cut back a lot but adding to some at the same time.Still think we will keep it around 1-200 most of the time I don't know how to do it less than that

just less breeds to focus on those we keep and only keeping the best of them
I know we have several I want to move out of the chick house into Big Bird's house but this roller coaster weather is keeping them in the chick house..cozy and warm.Never drops a degree under 70 in there with no heat won't be long before we will be sticking an ac in there.Chick house with heat and air now that's spoiled :lol ok maybe only fans like Big Bird's house has.

Okla-I have 3 left all red/buff about 6 weeks old now.I believe it is a trio.1 is a roo for sure and the others combs are saying pullet.. I'm clearing out the babies-got a bunch I have to keep so $10 for the trio

The layers are on a 16% crumble feed (with treats too...cracked corn and other grains, kitchen produce scraps, etc). Should I change them to a starter/grower until they finish their molt? No mites, but I do need to worm them. I don't mind a bit that they're not laying (of course I'd love more eggs, but whatever) and know they'll start eventually. And he's not going to kill one - he talks big but is a big softie.

Chickies will stay in. I think I need to re-vamp their brooder though, it's getting a little tight in there.
