I will not give up on the other colors but the Black Coppers are being worked on by a lot of good folks now and mine are coming along nicely don't get me wrong! I just need the room to work with other colors and a couple of other breeds.

I understood what you meant. They are VERY hard to breed correctly. Just way to many variables under there. If things don't make a BIG LEAP next year that may be my last year with them.

I agree about the Black Coppers... Even at shows there is still so much variation in the breed. But my BF loves them so they stay...

Congrats!!! I love that color but if you breed them it takes a ton of culling due to a lot of the time you will get nearly solid colored birds most of the time the mahogany color will cover most of the bird. It is very hard to get a evenly distributed jubilee color.

But I still love the color and would love to get a few one day

I am sure it takes a LOT of culling but we live in an area where people will buy chickens for eggs and not looks. They are so gorgeous though, I can't wait!

Hi! I am looking for a nice Buff or lemon cuckoo Orpington hen that is laying or near. I have a nice lemon cuckoo Orpington rooster but he is lonely in his pen by himself

I have 5 lemon cuckoo hatching eggs developing in my incubator but its going to be a loonngg time before they are ready to keep him company! I have Easter eggers in another pen but they are much smaller than my Orpington roo. Does anyone have buff or lemon cuckoos for sale? By the way, I am so happy to have found this Middle Tn thread
