The Middle Tennessee Thread

I am from the E. TN Thread but our thread has been closed and was wondering if it would be okay for me to come over here?

If it helps any I have family in the Nashville area but I am east of Knoxville. I am threadless and was looking for a place to hang out and post. thanks

Thank you. I don't know if they will open it back up or not? This is the only forum I am on so I really do not know how those things work.

I have not read all the pages on this thread but from what I have read it seems alot of people here have Orpingtons. I have a few Orps both in English and American. I have blues and blacks and am hoping to hatch some this year to get some Splash ones.

I also have EEs. All of my chickens are strictly for pleasure/hobby. I do not show, hatch or sell. I rely on a broody hen to hatch.

Thanks again for letting me join you all.

Well if you ever want more English Orpingtons I have pure blacks right now and plan to add more colors...Chocolate, lavender, cuckoo, Crele...and hopefully others...and I should have eggs available all of the time if the hens are laying , and I will have chicks only in spring and early summer. and maybe in early fall too before it gets too cold...and I should have juveniles in the summer, fall and winter.

Welcome! They may open the thread again. I think when they close one MOST of the time then open it back up UNLESS there has been repeated issues with the thread. The Old Marans thread would be an example of that.

Thanks and I have not even been on byc a year yet so I am still new. I can only think of one other time it was "locked" but this time it says "closed for review, please do not start another thread"

Oh well, time will tell.

Wow! People with lots of chickens, especially large one like the Orps, amaze me. You guys are my heroes! I swear the 8 I have are all under a year old and they put away some food.

Don't get me wrong I love them but just do not know how many I can afford to feed. There will be room at the inn so to speak because I have 4 pullets and 4 cockerels; I am just waiting on them to mature out so I can pick which males I want to keep. I appreciate the offer but I may not be in the market to add any time soon.

Welcome! I am cheating by being on this thread to as I am in West TN but I couldn't find a thread so here I am. ;) English Orps are the best - I love my BBS!

I am trying to convince the BF to let me have some EEs at the moment, I want pretty color eggs!

Thanks. I love my EEs too. They are small/med size to me, lay very well, friendly, etc. here's pic of my youngest pullets hatched last June (I think)
