There were hatchery but they were mixed with something brown so not 100% pure as I got them as chicks at a swap. They were very skiddish and nervous, at least the hens. The big ole roo attacked me every time I got in the coop to get the eggs. They were sadly, well not so sadly in the roos case, killed by the something a few days after we moved out and our renters moved in. There was a span of 3 days where the house was empty so whatever it was had been watching and waiting.Ok well you'll be kinda sort near me if you land in Warren coas in closer then the folks in Nash. (TN is such a wide state)
Hum, so the Leghorns were that mean? Where they production/hatchery whites? I've been hunting for some Heritage browns, but maybe that isn't a good idea...
Oh don't get me wrong, neighborhoods are great, I grew up in one. Unfortunately we were blessed with 5 acres in Florida and that did it for neighborhoods for us. No wheelingWelcome!! And don't worry about the neighborhood thing....I'm in one with acre lots and I have my little backyard flock and the neighbors love it (no roosters helps)

Noisy neighbors with loud annoying cars
We are just now country folk and don't like people within spittin distance of us now.
Same here. I lived in neighborhoods until moving to TN and now I'm completely spoiled by the country life. I love that the hot tub is clothing optional without an audience. Nobody says anything about the chickens. Best of all, no creepy neighbor sitting on the porch watching me do yard work!
