If he does not get rid of him, maybe I will get one of those electric dog collars to keep them on his 5 acres LOL I really think he was after a kill... he eat the WHOLE THING. He was on the last wing and really going at it when we pulled up..... one upper wing and entrails was all that was left.

The electric dog collars have so-so effects even on the highest settings. If a dog is determined to do something, it will ignore the static shock bursts. Now, with that said, there are electric dog collars that have remotes so you can control the bad behavior and apply verbal correction. This has a better method since it's trained and reinforced.

Using the wireless electric dog systems is by far the better way to go. You can set the zone and even move the system/zone where you want it vs. any underground setup that isn't flexible. PS, buy the unit that has the farthest range. The unit can dial in a smaller zone if needed, but a limited unit can't dial up to a larger zone. Just an FYI there. Dad read plenty of reviews and talked with people that had underground wire and the wireless. The remote unit is the best with a full wireless free roaming zone for the dog. There have been times when the collar wasn't placed on the dog as my siblings let him out and the dog stayed within the zone for a half day unit it was realized.

Donna I have an underground system I am getting ready to put on Ebay. All you need is more wire and the flags to train with. It has 2 collar rechargable/no batteries to buy and will do up to 25 ac. Let me know if you are interested before I put it up.

Speaking from my daughters expereince......she has a begal. They have lots of wooded property but didn't want Scout roaming too much so they did the underground electric collar. WORKED/WORKS GREAT!!! After several weeks they turned it off and he will not go beyond the border of were the line is BUT even though no longer active/charged, they have to put the collar on him when he goes out. They tried it without and he figured out he could go past the line but for whatever strange, unique, smart animal conditioned behavior when he has the collar on he still thinks he will get zapped!

Problem for then now, he likes to chase the chickens & ducks, doesn't harm them just pesters the heck out of them. Soooo, they tried a remote shock collar. DOESN'T PHASE HIM AT ALL!

Just thought I would share, all dogs will react differently, just a matter of trial and error.

Chad I have glass for my bator if you have not cut the top. It is a top sash and doublepaned. It measure 30" by 16". So maybe instead of 2 window only have one big one? I got my accurite at Walmart.

Becky I have already made the top I would rather be working on your bator but have spent most of the day under the house re-plumbing my hot water heater. I had a 800 dollar tankless unit that lasted about 3 and a half years....joy. Yes they deleted my links to my face-book page and mountain ridge poultry site. I will have to look for a good thermometer I think I have been too hot.
