Yeah..... I heard someone else had a broody SBEL too. You would think the WL in there would stop most of that. I don't even have many broody Amerauacanas, but it is definitely possible. Take her out for a day and see what happens. I had a BR that was broody for days. I picked her up walked around with her a few mins collecting eggs and then I put her in the run of her pen and she never sat again....
Yeah, I'm going to try that. I've kicked her out of the nest a couple times but haven't removed her from the coop. I'll give it a try this evening.

I finally got a usable sink at the farm

We picked it up at the Re-Store it is one of those that is just one BIG kitchen sink.... nice shade of PINK

. I had some counter top left from the remodeling at my house so we cut that to fit the sink, no counter top space but it is a nice BIG DEEP SINK I can clean hatching trays and egg carton holders. I can plug it to hold water... another handicap I had with the other itty bitty sink we have. This is going to be a HUGE help. I have been going outside and using the hose pipe to clean with.... not great.

I had a pretty good hatch too. Hatched 4-5 more GNH x Reg NH chicks and 3 more Barred Rocks ( 2 reg and 1 blue) a slew of SBEL. AND MY FIRST CHOC WYANDOTTE is trying to hatch..... I don't know what it is yet, choc or Black LRW since she jumped the fence. LOL 2 more that had not pipped but my first BLRW were slow to hatch. I also got my first BLRW chick from my pen of Splash x Black

Going to pretty this weekend..... ENJOY IT!
Congratulations.....hey is that my BLRW???? LOL

What a gorgeous day! I took the little peeps out for a field trip. They had a great time scratching around like big chickens.

Congrats on the sink & the hatch.
I need some advice. My barred rock is favoring her left leg. No obvious signs of damage or swelling. I noticed she's having problems walking so I looked her over. Nothing I can see. I put her down she flapped and struggled to walk. When she stopped she stood on her right leg only. She was fine yesterday. I'll keep an eye on her but any suggestions?

I sat outside with mine for a long time today, too. Such a beautiful day. They loved being out of their run and being able to scratch and dig all over the yard.

I candled the eggs in my bator - day 7. Almost all of mine are growing. Most of one shipment of hatching eggs is growing - and hardly any of the other shipment is growing. In a couple weeks I'll have lots and lots of chicks!

I have had similar things happen to chickens and I don't know what it is. I just put them in a pen alone near food and water and let them be. I have only had 1 rooster that didn't recover on his own and I think he may have had Mereks.

Well the last silver seabright died so i will have Buffs and Goldens to hatch but looking for some older Silvers to go ahead and get my roo some ladies to start hatcing with or i may just have to wait

I sat outside most of the day with our chicks today, and within 10 mins I saw 2 hawks fly over. So my chicks spent their field trip in a toddler play area while I put the top panel on their run.

Candled eggs tonight and We have 2 SBEL's that are thriving, 1 SBEL that quit, and I don't think any of the Marans have progressed. My son is ready to see some hatch :)

If you only get 1 or 2 to hatch let me know. They need some buddies to keep warm.... really they do. Not just saying that. I check the eggs I set today and MOST were clear but a few are developing I think. I need new batteries in my flashlight.... 400 lumens is not what it once was.
