Is anyone else getting a head start on winter? I am probably jumping the gun with chickens weathering it with me this year..
The Farmer's almanac had said it will be a wet winter so I am digging French drains around the coop and fixing the roof too.

We are trying to get a head start... trying to finish the new breeder pen before cold weather.
Slow going when you have so much help... LOL

the most I have payed for a single chicken is $20 LOL that was for a half grown 100% English Orpington pullet. The most I have payed at one time was $135 that was for 15 Lavender Orpington chicks.

most I have paid for a LOT of birds was $400 for chicks and $650 for big birds.

WOW! Mind telling me what kinds of birds they were???
I think my most expensive was $15 for my houdan. I love her but I thought that was a splurge!!!! I have some of her eggs in the incubator right now. She lays everyday but she's a little shy. She'll follow me all day long until I talk to her though. Goober!
