I never take money before I have either eggs or birds in hand. I have been taken advantage of in the past and not reimbursed with things didn't come to past.

Is there somewhere on BYC where you can put up an ad/waiting list without violating the rules?

I have seen people put up something like.... This is not a pre sale but starting a waiting list for spring.......

yes ma'am I did all is going well.....we have a few chickens a billy goat a nanny goat and a donkey LOL starting out the lil farm....how are things with you .... you are just crazy busy at all times lol...

I am so down. That @%**&^%$ hawk got another one of my girls. I had been so protective after it got Little Bit. This time it got Agnes. She's the beautiful salmon faverole that I was just complaining was so obstinate and was always causing trouble. I would have thought she would be the last one he would pick on. Maybe she was trying to go after him and protect the other girls, she liked to think she was the queen bee of the flock. The others had all gotten under the crawlspace of the coop and she was just outside of it. Don't know if she was still outside or if he dragged her out. I've been told the fake owl doesn't really work with hawks. I'm thinking of making a scarecrow of sorts and have him sitting in the chair outside the coop. My husband is trying to be so supportive. He wants me to get one of those chain fence runs, but they aren't really big enough….I've also looked at the "chicken condo" runs the make online but a nice size one costs a small fortune. I'm not letting them out today…..our trees were screaming with birds this morning and the hawk was flying overhead.

This is on Ebay right now for auction. I won one of these auctions last summer. Stretch this over you pen. If a hawk dose try to dive through it, it would be bounced if the ties withstood the force or be entangled if the ties gave. Either way you hens would get he chance to escape. Also find a mirror and face it to the sky at your pen. The light reflections are disorienting to the hawk as he tries to focus on a victim.

Great suggestions…..I just bid on the netting. I'll gather several mirrors and see if that helps too.
