The Middle Tennessee Thread

We are ok here, I put the birds in an old pen that was going to toss out. Threw them in there, and gave them some grub and water, and headed to bed. didn't sleep to well( didn't get to bed till about 7 and had to get up at 9) and so in order to make my sisters wedding and work right after that, I called out that day, ( Went to work last night and they was mad because I called out so they brought someone else in and sent me home} sat morning I was scrambling around because so much family was coming to town, and wouldn't make it on Christmas, so I had to wrap all the gifts I got them.( everyone and their pets!) and then had to wrap the old coop up best I could, expecting the storm to hit any min. I got ready for the wedding and left. storm ripped everything I put on the coop, and a piece of debris caught some of the front netting and all the little ones escaped, well, searched all morning and all are safe but one... no sign of her... hoping she just found a nice dry spot and will come out eventually... cleaned my breeding pens, and put the birds in there. separated them by size, since some was getting picked on...now they are all happy and dry, and been preening themselves for a while, hope to get some pics when they are finished. I still have to move the coops together and get that ready, but I might as well wait till spring to move them since its so wet, and they are so young, so plenty of time.

Donna, The SLW roo is going to be huge...Thinking back to my old one, he is about the same size if not denser, and the older one was 2 months older! he cracks me up with his naked tail. the black laced roo is going to favor his daddy( if Brutus was his daddy) im so excited to watch them grow and change... and the one that is missing is the one that looked like a black laced pullet that had the penciling on the wings....

Well that was a storm! Torn the leading edge of one section of metal roofing off my newest pen, so it lifted and banged down repeatedly for hrs. -- pretty sure there was a funnel cloud passed nearby but up in the clouds not touching down (sudden air pressure change, sounds like a train, then you could feel & hear the sound & feel the force of a wall of wind smack into the house) so glad all the damage was that one metal panel which is easy to fix. Neighboors had 1 small treelimb on roof no damage, another had a large tree fall over luckily away from the electrical pole it would have otherwise taken out. So, hope everyone else is nothing worse than muddy yards!

(I did skip my day 10 candle for the NYDH b/c I didn't want to risk letting the heat out during a bad storm, but the electical stayed on so whatever was good should still be good and I will candle tonight...)

@Countrypunk92 I hope your birds shows back up, very likely will but at the old coop (you said you moved the birds b/f the storm right?)

No, I put them in an old coop when I brought them home, from DMRIPPYs, I tried going to bed, the next day, I had so much going on with a wedding, gift wrapping because family was coming, and I tried stormproofing it, but the next day, the storm had messed the plastic netting that on on the front of it, allowing the birds to escape, all are fine, but one. still haven't seen her. but now they are in a nice, dry, well built multipen coop. I got some pics too!
