The guy that brought me the chicks bought 10 Marans Pullets and said he was done then went to RK and came home with GLW, Araucanas and RIR LOL. He has over 40 chickens now. He said his wife of 40 years has wanted chickens the WHOLE time and so he finally got some and now he is crazy over them LOL

Now see, that's awesome. And it's also chicken math lol

Well my chicken hating DH told me the local TSC has their chicks in.
4 of 6 pens are full, the outdoor brooder is full, the incubator is full
and he hates poultry,
so why on earth did he tell me not once but twice that the TSC has chicks??

and then a friend was over for coffee and she told me also...

Went to the chicken guy today right down the road from me and I come home with two Guineas and a bantam roo.

I like that roo. I'm not really to thrilled with banties primarily, but I like to have a few gamey ones just for laughs, and my wife has a sweet spot for them too. Guineas are starting to grow on me a little, but we had some when I was a kid and their favorite thing to do was torment me, so I have a natural distaste for them.

Because I'm a wimp and they were free, I now have more chicks. The plan is to grow them out for a friend and sell the others. But the Wyandottes just might stay ;)
