The Middle Tennessee Thread

I'm located in Antioch, right near Four Corners Marina on Percy Priest Lake. Pretty much the last road in Davidson county right where it meets the Rutherford county line near La Vergne.

Here are the specific breeds i'm interested in after doing research. You guys probably know more than me, so any breeds that have similar characteristics i'm interested in. Instead of "wants", I only have two "DONT wants" - No aggressive breeds and I don't want any "flighty" birds.

Barred Plymouth Rock
Buff Orpington
Rhode Island Red
Easter Eggers
Ameraucanas
Dominique

Looking for 3-4 pullets as young as possible, preferably day to week old but beggars can't be choosers so i'm open to anything close.
The last time I went in (a couple of weeks ago), the Rutherford Co-op in Murfreesboro had barred rocks, buff orps, and Easter Eggers as chicks. They called their EEs Arucanas, but I'm pretty sure they were just EEs. They had muffs and tails anyway and looked like chipmunks. That co-op gets fresh shipments in about every other week and breeds vary. They say that all of theirs are female and I've had pretty good luck with that. I don't think they have a minimum order.

I'm not sure what Tractor Supply has as I haven't been by since chick days started, but they tend to have buff orps and Rhode Island reds. You might check there and see. TSCs are everywhere.

Later in the spring I will have welsummers, buff orps, blue and splash ameraucanas, olive eggers and Easter eggers. Donna (DMRippy) also does EEs and olive eggers among many other things. Hopefully others will pipe up as to what they have available.

Good luck!

Chickensmart has Barnvelders, Ameraucanas, Barnaucanas(Barn/Am cross olive eggers), Black Copper Marans and I think she is growing out some Bielfelders but they are not laying yet. She has at least 2 more that I am forgetting.
