Donna-
There is a lady here in White Bluff that gives various art classes. She has one class on Pysanky Ukranian egg dying. She needs a source for white eggs that are not store bought. I guess according to her store bought eggs are sprayed with sanitizers, and it makes them not accept the dye as well.
Do you have any white eggs you don't sell? Or maybe you can sell her your white eggs that don't sell.

I don't know if I would have enough to keep her supplied. Most of my white eggs are my SBEL and they sell like hot cakes as eggs and chicks. Very few get past hatching. My white leghorn pen is not really producing many eggs right now. My exchequers are not laying yet. I might could come up with 6 eggs a week when they get going but not sure.

Hmm, I don't think she'd need to many. Maybe somebody else around has some white egg layers. Can you get them at the farmers market?
It's pretty cool looking stuff. I'm planning to learn how to do it, but I'm not about to pay her 60 bucks to do it. I'm going to use youtube LOL.

There may be a thread on BYC for it. Several BYC'ers make them.... got into chickens because of it. Does she know about Marans eggs and Blue eggs? They should sell them at some farmers Markets. You don't have to have a permit to sell eating eggs since the state reps corrected the misinterpretation of the law and the intent.

Nice looking, I'm sure the chickens will enjoy dry runs. I'm curious. Will it be divided for multiple runs or one large run?

I am useing it as 2 Silver Penciled Plymouth Rock breeding pens as I have it divided into two 8' x 18' breeding pens. Each breeding pen is 8' x 8' enclosed with a 8' x 10' covered outside run. Both have a separate fenced1/2 acer grass area that they can forage on while I am outside with them. At times when I am not outside or not home they are in their 8' x 18' breeding pen. They are let out onto the grass area daily if the weather is ok.

In breeding pen #1 I have 1 Dick Horstman cockerel over 3 Danny Padgett pullets.

In breeding pen #2 I have 1 Danny Padgett cockerel over 4 Danny Padgett pullets.

Next year I plan to add a few more pullets to each breeding pen. :)

Thank you!

Those are beautiful! I gave a lady a few green eggs to decorate, but never really thought about how she's decorating them.

What did they correct? I found the law several years ago, but it wasn't worth the trouble to sell with the few hens I had - they've crept up on me - but I've been unable to find the law again.

So HI! I'm in Dandridge! I have Buff Orpingtons and EEs. I just picked up four Black Copper Marans chicks this past Monday and they look like they might just be show quality! I was getting them for the eggs, but my daughter just might be having some fun at the fair this year. I also picked up an Ameraucana rooster - and I've never seen his coloring before - not that I'm experienced, but he's a light buff with some odd black marking, I'm hoping he turns out pretty. Also got 3 more BO chicks, but should probably be looking for a rooster as my Mister is going on his third year and I should bring some new blood in next spring. I haven't got the pics of the BO or Ameraucana uploaded yet, but here's my Marans:
