So since I bought some OE and SBEL, I need to know what to breed them to. I have marans which I would like to breed to Marans to have some pure bred. I also have some lavender somethings I don't remember off hand. Suggestions?

The SBEL I would breed back to a blue egg layer like an AM or CCL. The olive eggers.... wait and see what color egg you get. If you want them darker breed back to a Marans if you want them GREENER breed back to a blue egg layer. Olive Eggers are tricky especially the 2nd generation.

One day of rain and all of the pens are like a swamp again. Especially that darn Marans pen. I don't know what they do in there but it is RIDICULOUS.

Spring so needs to arrive!
We traded an old car that ran for a ROOF on my breeding pens. Best trade I ever made LOL. I did see a leak today though..... in a Marans pen too LOL. The Marans tend to LOVE THE MUD.... is it muddy in France?

Spring can come and stay a LONG TIME.... without all the rain.

I keep wood mulch (not dyed and not cedar- that could cause respiratory problems) and leaves in my pen for deep litter. Throw some scratch every day and they are happy to compost it for you. And no mud.
