This actually raises a question that i have wondered about for a while. At what point do you quit saying that your birds are from X breeder? How many generations down the line?
My silkies came from Ferguson. I tell people that my original stock are ferguson birds. When people then buy from me they aren't buying Ferguson birds, they are buying from me. Do they have the right to say they have ferguson stock? If i were Jack Ferguson I would be ****** if someone said that. He doesn't know how i breed and has no control over it. Thus despite my starting with his line they are no longer his line when they leave his farm and I start using them in my breeding program.
What do y'all think?

Say I got birds from you. I ould say that my birds are from you derived from Ferguson lines. Or something of that sort. I think it would take at least a few generations to make them your own line. But you are right, they are no longer his when they leave his farm just derived from.

Once birds from a certain breeder/line leave the hands of the original breeder they are no longer that lines birds. Yes they are from the same bloodline but you can't say for certain if the breeder would have used those particular birds in his breeding program there fore your are creating a different line. I never say what bloodline mine are from unless I am directly asked that is because they are my line.

That sounds like a better explanation.

I was out feeding the Turkeys and Guineas this morning - they are about 8 weeks old. One is without a doubt a Tom as he was strutting around dragging his wings on the ground and with his little bitty tail stuck straight out and spread as wide as he could get it. Of course no camera but I will go back out later with one to see if I can catch him doing it.

I also put 11 eggs in lock down today 2 Olive Eggers and 9 Penedensenca. Fingers crossed!!

4 hens

Make me an offer I would like to get more than $100

DM me if interested I have pictures!!

These birds did not come from me....I did not sell them to keith he got them from some lady that I never sold to...I checked my records

oh she said they came from you and they are very beautiful like yours and just thought yeah it makes since but I guess not oh well

I have only started selling eggs this year and my oldest chicks live in colorado and they are only 18 weeks old so no one and I mean no one in the WORLD has any birds of mine that are old enough to be producing eggs.

Mine are only 3 months old and ok

Yes, I sold the black orpington chicks to McCoys Orps, they were hatched from your eggs (I only needed the blues). Not sure if Keith's Orps are from a family member of McCoys Orps?

I had high hopes for these chicks to add to my Australorp pen, but the consensus is that 2 of my 3 are in fact cockerels. They are graduating to more forceful sparring so they need a new home. I can deliver to Maury, Lawrence, Wayne, or Giles county.
700

PM me if interested.

They are in my garage, so pardon the lighting. One of the Aussies is up front next to my bantam Chocolate Orpington cockerel. Aussie is on the right

My sister-in-law also has an Aussie cockerel and two pullets for sale. They are about 2 1/2 months old. One of the pullets lost her tail feathers to picking by older hens.

When did you order from me? and where? I know it was not on here....not sure what your name is so I can't look that up.

Yeah I'm his step father cause they said he was not old enough so I made an account for both of us

Check your facebook messages.  This is Leigh Ann and you sold me eggs in February.  10+ BBS that arrived at my house on February 11, and 10+ black split to lavender for my sister-in-law that arrived at my house on February 19th.

Ahh!! yes!! Sorry about that! I just wanted to make sure that the birds he is trying to sell are actually from my lines!

Yes they came from you and I'm his stepfather I made an account so we can buy/sell and he does not buy or sell without me there and he knows chickens better than me but he is excited to breed your birds and he is thinkin about getting 3 mottled then hatching some black eggs and breeding to get mottled orps 100%

I think that is the most quotes I have ever seen.....

If you get mottleds WHY would you breed them to blacks? You would not get more mottleds you would have to breed those back to some mottled or breed them to each other and do a lot of culling.

Yes I'm gonna take them and breed them back and I know I'll have them as pets

Hey there everybody.
Have not posted in forever.
I am looking for Buff Orpington chicks for a 10 yr old that had some serious losses due to a weasel. Repairs to coop have been made and we are looking for at least 20 and up to 50. If they can be sexed all the better.
Somebody please help!!
