Troy's wife had a heart attach and then a stroke last night. He feels he needs to sell his chickens. I don't know what all he has. He has a friend that might take some of the LF for layers. He had some polish and silkies and a few other LF. If anyone wants to help PM me. When I know what he has I will let you know. He is in White house area.

Pray for her to have a healing and him too. This is a really rough time for him.

Just saw this posting. I am so sorry he and his family are having such a hard time right now. Prayers to them all.

He has several polish chicks too..... When I know what is already spoken for I will know what is left. I am going to have to go and pick up the 2 that I want and 2 that I have sold for him..... If I can I can bring back any other birds to Nashville, but I don't have room to house them so you would have to pick them up right after I get them..... I can meet everyone at my house in Nashville and could stay for a few hours.

I do not know when this will happen but I will keep everyone posted.

I was fortunate enough to find Cream Legbar chicks only about an hour away so today I picked up 10 new babies. In case anyone is interested I will have a cockrel or two available in a few weeks.

During the night she pulled her feeding tube out. But they have left it out. She ate some ice chips applesauce and pudding today. She even feed herself. They got her out of bed and she insisted on walking backyard to bed unassisted I am sure troy didn't let that happen lol. Sounds to me like she is recovering pretty well in a short time. He usually up dated on FB he has a private group he updates. If I can remember I will keep y'all updated too.

Thanks. I did find some (the very nice CityGirl..). However, I fought picky chicken fever and just gave my broody the so called "Blue Laced Barnevelder" eggs I bought in an up characteristically unresearched moment. Ha. We'll see what happens.

I set six in hopes of getting one, maybe two pullets. If more actually hatch, I will be offering them to good homes.

Laying hens are only good for two years and after that the production goes down, but they still require expensive feed and care.
If the Hens can't pay for their up-keep, they are headed for the soup kitchen.

Pet Hens are different as they were not obtained for egg production, but they too can be costly after time.

If I had 10-12 laying hens and did not want to take them with me when moving, I would simply pass them along to the new residence. A dozen hens are too small group to deal with for anyone to purchase and too old also.

Roo's are not worth anything, and more than one is disaster. One Rooster to 24 hens is all you need anyhow. That makes him happy and the hens won't be bothered as much either.

How do I find someone who wants roosters, that will use them for food or pets, not fighting?! I have 9 week old babies and will likely have at least 5 Roos. We may keep one, so I will need to find a good place for the others. Thoughts?

Just put them on craigslist. Free usually they are gone quick.
