The Middle Tennessee Thread

Hi all was told this was a great group. I'm from Ohio but close to southern Ohio does that count????

I think so! :D ;)

I made a great friend over in Ohio this last year... ;)

This group actually started out of a lunch meetup for local chicken people. We expected maybe 6-8 and had 20+ show up. It was great fun. :)

Need to do it...

I think I could as well. I t would be great to have a date set so everyone knows.

Agreed...

I've really enjoyed following these posts.  I can't wait to get back to TN and start my flock.  Getting a house ready to sell in the DC metro area is a real pain in the backside.  I'm looking forward to meeting folks once I get back.  Once I have the brooder built, I'll be looking for heritage breeds both white and brown layers.  @cree57i
has already turned me onto a custom feed supplier and I'm half way through his homework assignment.  I really can't wait to get back and get started...  You folks are inspirational!

Oh, that's a bummer! Hope you get it all done soon! Can't wait for you to move this way!

It is really good to see you here Anne! Maybe we could get this started back up. We have so many new people on this site.

We could plan to do one every six months or maybe every 2 or 3.
Great idea!

We could probably swing the every six month
That sounds wonderful. I look forward to seeing how your Penedesenca chicks look all grown up...and how dark their eggs are! Maybe @Wisher1000 and some of the others in Ala. would be interested in a once or twice a year meet up too???

So glad to hear you will right down the road from me. I can tell you have really done your homework about setting up your farmstead. The buttercups are blooming, you better get yourself down here before you miss spring!

Welcome @OHfarmerswife. Southern OH certainly counts! I hope to be making a chicken trip your way soon. Maybe we can meet up in KY and get together with @KYTinpusher. Sounds like another opportunity for some chicken swapping may be right around the corner!

All eggs labelled and dated and less than 1 week old. Located between Shelbyville and Lynchburg....pick up only on our farm or in Lynchburg or Shelbyville.
