I took in a sad old lady hen from poultry hollow and she has a cyst near her eye. Do any of you have experience with this? I ordered some denegard from amazon to help treat it but should I lance it or leave it alone?

When they have a sinus infection it will swell up under their eye. Respiratory infections cause eye swelling too. You can use neosporin opthalmic ointment (always without the word "Caine" in it) if it is truly an eye infection and not more complicated.

Don't let her around your new chicks.

She's in quarantine so no worries there. I just felt so bad for her and couldn't leave her. I'll try the neosporin. Thank you.

Who all is going to the poultry swap in Woodbury Saturday and what will you have?? I should be there to buy and may have some things t o sell.

Im not sure this is my first time going, maybe someone else has gone and knows.
I am bringing some 3-4 week old Bantam Cochin and Easter Egger chicks, ducklings, hatching eggs...maybe a male peacock. Sometimes it's big..sometimes it's not. Since there's no pre-sign up, it's hard to tell....but no matter how many are there, it's always a fun morning with lots of interesting birds.
