Did you get them as adults or poults, or hatch them yourself? If you didn't get them as adults, they should be just fine... turkeys imprint super easy, either on you or their 'flock'... they're also good about knowing where safety is...

I got them at maybe a week old. They are the regular ole white turkeys. I just don't want them running off because they are our thanksgiving!

They shouldn't... like I said, they imprint on home and flock really well... just let them out the first time when you can be around to watch them... but I bet they'll be just fine... harder to keep them off your porch and out of your hair more than anything, lol!

I just received 24 two day old poults. The smallest didn't last more than an hour as the others beat it up pretty bad... After removing him, they began picking on three other small guys... I've setup an isolation space for the tiniest and all seem to be doing fine right now. The isolation space is in the brooder with the others. Any idea how long I should keep them separated? All advice is welcome.

I've got a truly exceptional partridge cockerel. He's just turned 5 months last week and I wasn't sure he was a male until a week ago. He got such a round fluffy shape. No hard tailfeathers at all. Perfect feet. A perfect dark walnut comb and small wattles. As fluffy as he is, he's till growing out and has a few pinfeathers left to fill out. He came from a batch of eggs I hatched from Bobbi Porto and he's going to be something. He's dark but not as dark as he looks in these pictures- he' s coming in a nice deep red and getting redder by the day. I think he's the ideal rooster for a partridge breeding program.

I believe he will be show quality but he needs his full adult feathering to be sure. No disqualifications, exceptionally nice feet, exceptional comb. Anybody interested? I just can't keep another roo as badly as I want to keep this one. He's a sweetheart too. Not fiesty at all. $20 or make me an offer. I also have a white, a blue partridge and a gray/silver partridge about 6 weeks younger that could go too (unsure of sex yet but two sure looks like pullets).

Blue partridge (girl?) She is much younger than the boy above and has a lot of fluffing up yet to do. I'm near Clarksville, PM me if you are interested

Hi all, anyone know where I can buy adult ducks? I am looking to add either some runners or Khaki Campbell to my flock. New to the Nashville area so not sure where to look.

I only have Call ducks, not sure who might have KC's or Runners, sorry... just be careful of the one who lists many breeds of waterfowl and poultry on CL, Murfreesboro/Triune area... many have had issues from there...

And welcome to the area! :)

Ah, Thank you for the heads up. I was considering giving him a call, but was cautious simply due to the number of posts.

Any auctions around here? Was also thinking, the state fair is in a month and not far from me, maybe I could buy something there.

I underestimated the difficulty of finding adult ducks. I bought 10 ducklings from McMurray Hatchery online originally but I don't really want the trouble of raising ducklings right now, plus I want eggs right away.

I'd check out the fair...

There is an auction barn in Lewisburg that has a sale every Sat, and though I know many good people that sell off their extras there, you just never know what you might get or what they might be carrying... if you go that route I strongly suggest a full quarantine... they have a facebook page under Lewisburg Livestock Market Inc...

QUARANTINE!  Understand bio-security too.  I can tell you a HORROR STORY from an auction (not the one mentioned but it could happen at any auction)... she ended up have to put down over 200 birds.   And I agree don't buy from that person on CL or at the flea market in that area.

Yup, quarantine is a must for auction places... even if the birds you get are perfectly healthy, no telling what they could pick up from the ones around them... :/

Hey, might have an extra white Am cockerel soon... think I have at least 2, waiting a bit longer to make sure and see how they grow out...
