Quote: I go to Bonnies for feed all the time... never on Saturday. The ones they had a Rural King had some very pretty coloring and turned out very pretty... I just want more like the ones I got a year or 2 ago. Very pretty and healthy chicks. I THINK with Poultry House you have to pre-order and since I want to PICK the chicks that would not be a good option.

They sell to walk-ups too but they take biosecurity seriously so it isn't as if you can choose from a bin. I haven't tried asking for something specific so IDK what they'd say. But, just at random, I got a buff and lavender, a partially penciled gold, and a silver that laid eggs that were a shockingly brilliant Robin's egg blue inside. They made me happy.

Anyone want a super sweet frizzled rooster?! I'd love to keep him, but he's getting too loud for my neighborhood. He was hatched from eggs I bought from Donna Rippy. I'll deliver!

Whoa, they put our co-op to shame! Ours has two bins and maybe 3 selections at a time. Last year, they had turkens and my kids just laughed and laughed looking at the "baby emus" but generally they get the more common breeds. They do, at least, buy sexed pullets because (as the chicken lady there said) that's what most of their customers ask for. And, they do give them a hiding place to decrease bin stress which I think is awesome. It's a plastic crate of some sort.
