Matlock you have plenty of room.I have had the eggs laying so close they can't move and the chicks hatch fine. I'm not the one to ask about lockdown..I don't worry my brain with such stuff. We dry incubate and many times have gone in and found the chicks riding the roller coaster turners because I forgot some..you would think the big date wrote on the egg would keep that from happening but it doesn't

When they are in "lockdown" I open the bator if I need to..quickly and never leave it just open but it doesn't hurt the chicks from hatching. What hurts the most we have found is too much humidity. When I quit worrying about the "rules" my hatch rates went way up..
Good luck on the hatch...your addicted

Holly I totally agree with the too much humidity. Too many people follow the 75% at lockdown. When I went with a more dry incubation and hatch my hatch rate also went way up. In fact I have only lost 1 egg in 4 mths that went into lockdown. I have my incubation guidelines on my webpage if anyone is interested.
Hope everyone is loving this day. IT IS GOING TO BE FANTASTIC! I love pretty days. YAAAAAAY! Who all is coming on Sunday and where are we doing this?
