The only real difference is the color I think cockerels on both but could be wrong. The bigger one is darker and the smaller one is lighter both blue. Wings are good, skin is as dark as can be expected not pitch balck but no way red or pink at all. Foot feathering needs improvement. Calling you now!

Is anyone still doing Don Fox this Sunday in Lebanon??? If so I need to know a time, I'm going to the Taylor Swift concert tonight & won't get home until extremely late so hoping to find out before I leave today around 12

I hope everyone is having a great day!

, shower, & get my day started & hope the swelling in my eyes go down.

My silkie's necks aren't naked like that is that normal?

So I got home late last night to find that my idiot dog has been taunting the neighbor's longhorn cow again and clearly the cow had had enough. Lily had a gaping hole in her side where the cow had horned her.

I called the vet and at 10:30pm was tearing off to Chapel Hill. He knocked her out and sewed her up and sent us home. That was fun and expensive. Even more fun was getting home with a comatose 55lb dog and figuring out how to get her back in the house (long story, but involved blankets, heavy lifting and a lot of huffing and puffing). Then I couldn't get her to wake up. It was 2am before I finally got her up and mobile enough to feel comfortable letting her go back to bed. The poor (idiot) dog is now laying on the chair looking pitiful and feeling rotten. Let's hope this teaches her to stay away from the pokey horned cows in the future.

I had an interesting project going with this last hatch. I have a barred EE rooster in my LF pen and he is merrily trying to make babies with all the girls, including the welsummers. The thought is that perhaps we can get some crele EEs out of the deal. Well, the babies hatched and there are indeed some interesting babies in there. Traditionally I get all black chicks due to the barred rocks and black roosters. These babies are brown. Feathers are starting to come in. See what you think.

My luck all three will be roosters. Sigh. Let's hope at least one turns out to be a girl.

This scared the hooey out of me the other evening. I came out of the run and turned into it. It was almost like those movie scenes where the alien blob plasters itself all over the face of its unsuspecting victim. ACK! I'm guessing it's a moth of some sort. It was about the size of my hand.

And finally, my front garden is starting to bloom. Despite a constant battle with weeds, this area makes me happy.

Due to the dog fiasco, I would rather meet in Murfreesboro this time so I can scoot back home to check on her. If we meet in Murfreesboro I can stay and chat longer.

If we can't it is no big deal. I'll catch you the next go around. Just let me know time and place for tomorrow.

TNchickie, lots of us around here have silkies. You just have to pick your color! I have some buff girls that are around 8 months old that I am getting ready to sell. PM me if you are interested. Silkietime in Joelton has splash and white. SimplySplendid has black and blue. Someone (whose name I can't ever remember) has paint. Just pick a color!

Apparently I will be lolling about the house today. I cancelled my Dickson meeting to stay home and keep an eye on Lily. Perhaps she will nap all day so I can cut the grass and plant all the flowers I bought at Lowe's yesterday. Y'all have a great Saturday!!

Wow! I don't check on you all for a few hours and look what you go and do........

Tish, they are the cutest things! And you said they have personality too? Great combination....

Ann, those flowers are glorious. Sure looks like you live in the country rather than in=town. Hope FrankieLily is feeling better, poor thing. Good thing you've got a doc who'll operate that late. I'll vote for Murfreesboro for Sun, too then. Wish somebunnie would decide.

What is Don Fox, a concert? Guess I'm really behind the times, eh?

I learned something new today ~ what "lockdown" means. My daughter was in law enforcement (sorta) so my initial concept was way off!

Had a blast Pam! My friends at the flea market closed shop early today to enjoy Good Ole Day's.
When is this thing going to happen tomorrow and where are we going? Anyone need silkies? And I do have one little showgirl I will let go of.

Well...I'm going to have to get over this crud Ethan gave me quite a bit before tomorrow to get me out of the house

Don Fox is the Park here in Lebanon..there is a concert going on there though as well..it's opening and closing act is the red eye invasion-oh all the in between is the same song and often the "wave" breaks out in unison among the crowd

She is just pitiful, isn't she? I'd like to think she would learn to not mess with 1000lb animals with pokey horns, but Lily does not have a history of making wise choices.

That afghan was made by my late grat aunt. She was a great knitter and crocheter and is actually one of the reasons I learned to do it. It always looked like such fun when she did it. The afghan is covering an antique chair that Lily probably shouldn't even be sitting in. I'm a sucker for a cute doggie face though. If my mother ever found out the dog was on the chair or the afghan she would likely kill me.
