I wish wish wish I could afford a 100 dollar pair of chickens. Unfortunately I can't. Maybe someday but not right now. i am just trying to preserve the breeds that I have. But I am making sure they fit into their standard otherwise they are culled but I am spending so much money on my show goats that I don't think I can spend the money I want to on the chickens so Im just going to stick with my low line stock and breed up over time like I said earlier. I am young

hopefully I will have plenty of time to get my flocks like I want

My passion is poultry but I have invested a ton of money into my nubians to get them to where they are so I hate to go back now. I'll be spending money on showing the goats this year but next year I'll be focusing mainly on the poultry.

Also does anyone on here raise salmon faverolles? If so how do you like them?

Well it ain't really got a thing to do with chickens, but i'm one happy camper tonight. Not only did I finally figure out how to get my AutoCad 05 to work on windows 7, I drew up some amazing pattern layouts for some copper water heads that are getting replaced at MTSU. I love copying old school work. These will be getting cut out on a flowjet machine from a partner metal shop. No handcutting involved (assuming my pattern making is good). Can't wait to see the profit on this job, I only hate it's not mine! (the profit I mean! )

On a chicken note, one of my little cochin bantams that hatched early in July is trying to crow... Outstanding effort, but dang it sounds so funny. I thought he was hurt at first when I heard it. Still no eggs from the laying age girls, I have a feeling they may be down in the goat house, I need to go look.
If anyone is interested, I'm thinking I want to sell my goats. One female la mancha that has milk in her utters, but I can't figure how to get it out, I tried a few times. And a guilded billy that was given to us, but I'm not sure his "make". I'm planning on placing them on craigslist this week sometime. They are both big baby pets.

Hope ya'll had a great weekend.

I know a day spent in the pool and playing with my critters

I had a ton of stuff that needed to be done but with summer coming to an end soon there may not be many days left to use the pool and have summer fun with the kids so the work can wait for another day.I'm still working on trying to get a mini vacation in..with my GS camp trip and Crossroads on back to back weekends in Oct it's going to be hard to have any other fun soon.

matlock-there is nothing quite like conquering a computer issue..no worries though now you have it installed Windows 8 will come out your computer will be devastated have a melt down and then you will be working on how to install it on a new version...computer conspiracy

Now the profit thing..if the pattern is as planned start negotiations

I love listening to the bantam boys learn to crow..your right they sound like they are hurt it's so cute once you realize they are fine.

My kids want some tiny little goats but Paul said if I do that he won't add more fencing..we have to and they are not sure they want to go around and re-fence the entire pasture.Of coarse all the other stuff he "won't" do gets done

Desperate!! Does anyone have any baby polish pullets? I had ordered a few white crested back to replace my daughter's favorite "Dude" who was killed by a hawk a couple weeks ago - they should have shippied today, but I just got a call from My Pet Chicken saying there didn't have enough hatch and couldn't fill my order!

Also had a mottled Old English hatch off a few. Looks like a couple of red cochins in the group. Countrypunk is going to take them.
