Instead of buying something cammo, I suggest buying a rifle cleaning kit!

The kit should come with basic instructions. Lay everything out on newspapers and an old towel. Have a couple of small rags for hand wiping handy. THEN call Dad.

WOO HOO mighty hunter. Cleaning is easy and you are in the boro. Go by Murfreesboro Outdoors and pick up the cleaning kit. Guys are really sweet and will help you. You can also pick it up at Wallie World, Dick's, etc. If you don't want to call Dad, give me a jingle and I will walk you thru it over the phone.

I have no doubt you can manage the gun cleaning. . . you may wish to lay out your cleaning stuff in a garage, carport, shed, or other area outside the main house. That stuff SMELLS! (But it also carries many memories for me as I was growing up, LOL!)

I think I'm going to keep a few of my off color Mille chicks just to cross with Toast and see if a mille pattern can get started in the silkie's..these little cross chicks I have now and you have are basically the right type to get something going..however mine are all solid black

I'm not selling any more Mille chicks this winter..I need to find my back up rooster. I sold a beautiful young roo so I wouldn't have 3 to deal with and Kid my jr roo went outside got bit or something nasty happened he swelled up horrible and all the traditional meds and all natural wouldn't work it got hot it burst it wasn't good and he went belly up on me recently so I only have one-he's real nice but I don't like having just one.

I will get some baby pics..chicks are still in the brooder other than broody hen and I don't think anyone wants to see baby bunny pics

so I will go get some of the cuties now old enough to find another kid that would love them

citygirl CONGRATS GREAT JOB!!!! PROUD OF YA LOL .....ah...one shot...don't really have to clean depending on the gun I guess?.....these glocks can go forever not that i have done that LOL....we have pop inspections...but i know not everyone cleans theirs after they shoot the shotguns...but it would be good for you to know how to break it down and clean it....you can look that up on the internet for how to break it down to clean and yes get a kit and break free works AWESOME!!!! It breaks up all the nasty gunk!

Thanks, y'all! I have been alternating between having the heebiejeebies over the possum/possum guts and feeling like a SheMan Mighty Warrior. I knew y'all would get the SheMan part though. I was somewhat proud that I could protect my babies out there.

The gun is a 16 gauge shotgun that was my daddy's when he was a kid (so circa 1955 or so). I like it better than the 12 gauge 'cause it's lighter even thought it's only a single shot. It was a LOT louder than I thought it would be. The possum and I were both shocked. It is a little disturbing that I was able to blast away at midnight and no one thought it needful to see what was up. For all the nosy busybodies around here you'd think someone would have called the sheriff at least.

I have to join the ranks of the living tomorrow and actually start leaving the house. Summer break is over. Sigh. I'll run by Murfreesboro Outdoor and get that kit.



For those that pray, you might be praying about my job. I'm waiting to hear back from my old boss. If that one doesn't happen I have an interview with another company next week. I really want to stay here in town. There is only one other option other than these two possibilities. Pray that one of them takes.

Holly- I am digging your mille project. I think mille silkies would be so much cooler than those paint ones. I LOVED the mille fleur d'uccles I had. Sadly they had rotten personalities, but dang they were cute.
One of this round of silkie chicks has come out with dots. It will be interesting to see how that one turns out.
