these allergies are one reason my husband thought i would not be able to enjoy a farm

I got the call right before 9:00 this morning - both boxes were in the Franklin PO waiting for me to pick them up. So I hurried over there - and all 8 of them were doing great.

A lady came up to the counter next to me at the PO and said, "Are those live animals????" I said, "Yes, they're little chicks." She said, "That's weird!" LOL!

I brought them home, dipped their beaks in water, put them in the brooder, set out the grogel and chick feed, set up the warming lamp, and they're all running around eating, drinking and having a grand time. I think they're happy to be out of those boxes! I went ahead and put the two sets together because there really isn't a huge difference in size (3 weeks). So far, so good. I know technically I should keep them separate for a couple weeks - but I decided to take a chance. Hope I don't regret it. The little ones aren't shy about being around the larger ones. I told them they're brothers and sisters now and to be nice to each other.

I'm just so happy they arrived safe and sound! The four from Meyer should all be pullets. Two of the Araucana from the private breeder are bigger than the other two and already have fairly large feathers. So I'm guessing I probably have two girls and two boys. I'll be happy with that. I'll have to wait and see. Maybe I'll start breeding Araucanas! LOL!
