That's a nice surprise! Out of the 4 Araucana chicks I got yesterday - two are larger than the other two. I figure I've got two males and two females. I hope I get a surprise like you got, though!

Pictures please!! We could maybe help. They may just be older.

The 4 araucanas were all hatched the same day (Aug. 14) - so the age is the same. I'll take some pics tomorrow. Three of the 3-day old hatchery chicks look the same - although there's supposed to be 2 EEs, 1 welsummer and 1 light brown leghorn. I'll take pics of them, too, and maybe you can help me figure out who's who. :)

Hi everyone. Looking forward to a pretty weekend!

So I'm looking for someone in the Murfreesboro area to help me with some house cleaning. Does anyone know a good housekeeper?? I'm not sure how to even go about finding one, craigslist scares me.

Thanks!

As for chicken conversation, the older girls are about 16 months now and the mystery chick and silkies are about 7 weeks. I've got them separated with a partition and look forward to mixing them as soon as the silkies are big enough. I'm trying to keep myself from obsessing about finding our first egg as it's still early yet, but I find myself searching the coop several times a day anyway. Ha.

I used to use a great lady. She was super nice and very trustworthy. She wasn't the best deep cleaner, but she did the normal stuff really well. And let's face it, it's not like I am going to deep clean either. I only gave her up because of losing my job. She was the hardest thing to give up. If you want I can go look up her number.

There is a Molly maid service in Smyrna it's a company so it would be bonded there office is by the airport.

PS the first egg is always the best. My DH and older DD thought it would be funny to dye eggs blue from the grocery store prior to my first egg not knowing I had EE that lay colored eggs. It way let the air out for me

Aack! Emergency here. Was tucking the chicks into bed and one my of silkies has a weird eye. It's bottom lid is sagging, exploding some flesh under the eye.

Any idea what this could be? Injury? Sickness? I washed it out with purified water and will get some saline eye wash and hope to find some eye safe antibiotic ointment tomorrow.
